What is platelet rich plasma therapy?

Our blood is made up of numerous components including white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets. Platelets are a rich and natural source of growth factors and it is these growth factors that are involved in wound healing, regenerative processes and the stimulation of new collagen and elastin formation.

Platelet Rich Plasma therapy, also known as Dracula therapy, is a revolutionary treatment which harnesses your own healing factors to create an improvement in the skin or hair follicles. How does it work?

Approximately 10mls of blood is taken from a vein in your arm and placed into a centrifuge- this separates the blood and plasma components. All the bloods rich growth and healing factors are activated and then re-injected back into your skin. The result is acceleration of the skins natural healing process and enhanced collagen formation to the injected sites.

When will I see results?

After your first treatment, you will notice results immediately- your skin will have a fresh glow. This will continue to improve over the coming weeks as your collagen production continues to rise.

Most conditions need 3 treatments to see the best results, spaced at 4-6 weeks apart. Following consultation, a unique and tailored treatment plan will be created for optimal results.

For thickening of hair, results will start to show from 3 months onwards.
