What is Profhilo?
As we get older, the natural Hyaluronic acid levels in our skin tends to decrease, which causes our skin to lose its plumpness. Profhilo is an injectable hyaluronic acid based product used for treating skin laxity by remodelling (tightening and lifting) ageing and sagging tissue as well as providing intense hydration to the skin. In fact, it boasts one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid (64mg/2ml) on the market. It is a great treatment to use in combination with other procedures or as a stand alone.
How does it work?
Once Profhilo is injected, it acts like a sponge, absorbing water and expanding, making the skin look younger by reducing fine lines and wrinkles and giving it a plumper appearance. It involves 5 injection points on each side of the face which have been identified to reduce risk to blood vessels or nerves and to maximise diffusion of the product. Profhilo also generates impressive results on the neck, décolletage and the back of the hands.
When do I see results?
Profhilo is a 2-part treatment carried out in two sessions, 4 weeks apart. As soon as it is injected, it immediately starts spreading due to its cohesive nature. It lasts in the skin for 28 days during which it stimulates 4 different types of collagen and elastin, resulting in significant tissue improvement. Immediately following the first treatment there should be a noticeable improvement in skin firmness, tone and hydration, however for optimum results, two sessions of Profhilo are recommended.
